Due to the fact that residents move and perform work automatically, the basic mechanics is planning their work. When they go to bed, when they do their chores and when there is time for recreation. Additionally, we also set priorities for individual work. A resident who cannot treat should not treat at all because it will only worsen the patient's condition instead of helping him. Individual jobs are influenced by certain skills, they have levels from 0 to 20.
Resident skills:
- Shooting β affects the speed and accuracy of colonists with ranged weapons
- Melee combat β affects the speed and accuracy of blows with hand weapons
- Building β affects the speed and quality of construction, nicer furniture improves the well-being of the colonists. Additionally, a higher lvl reduces the chance of unsuccessful construction
- Mining β affects the rate of extraction of stone deposits. A higher lvl reduces the chances of wasting resources while mining.
- Cooking β affects the cooking speed. A higher lvl gives you access to new recipes.
- Farming β affects the speed of harvesting crops, plants or cutting down trees. A higher lvl reduces the chance of a failed harvest and allows you to create crops for plants.
- Training β affects interactions with animals. A higher level increases the chance of taming animals and teaching them obedience, e.g. following animals during a fight.
- Crafting β affects the speed and quality of constructed items such as clothes or weapons. The higher the quality of the item, the better its statistics.
- Artistic β affects the quality of decoration items such as statues that enhance the beauty of rooms.
- Medical β affects the quality of treatment of residents and surgeries performed on them.
- Social β affects diplomacy. A person with a higher lvl is better at haggling prices when trading or more quickly persuading prisoners to join our colony.
Building:
The village scheme has an important influence on the inhabitants. During enemy raids, you cannot afford to have the wounded carried halfway across the map to the hospital because they will bleed out. The food granary cannot be far from the kitchen because the resident will produce food slower due to long walks. It is also important to create nice rooms for the sake of the colonists' well-being.
In βCastlLordβ you build ready-made structures, not individual blocks. Each building has a specific function. It can be used as an ordinary house or as a mining place, e.g., a lumberjack's hut, or as a material production site, e.g., a forge.
